About the event
About our Course:
Schools are normed to the desired approaches of the dominant group. We must take a culturally relevant approach that attends to the cultural needs of all children, families, and colleagues. Yet, we must equitably seek, and center marginalized people's preferred communication and interaction styles. How can we ensure that our work is engaging people at the most dangerous intersections of race and other marginalized identities in our human diversity(homophobia, ableism, transphobia . . .)? Participants will gain introductory practice with the Racially Conscious Collaboration framework for cultural relevance and learn how to center and value students’ cultures and identities in the curriculum.
